Thupathittu - Nutritional Snack

Thupathittu is the most popular badaga dish done on several occasions. It is had as a snack. I means 'dish made from ghee'.
Ingredients:
Sugar – 200 g
Maida Flour – 500 g
Baking Soda – 1/4 tsp
Water (as required)
Salt
Oil to fry
Procedure:
  • Mix all  the above ingredients and beat it into a fine jelly-like paste.
  • Keep it covered for half an hour for the paste to set.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Take a flat bottomed utensil (approximately 4″). Turn it upside down and cover the vessel’s bottom with a clean wet cloth.
  • On it,spread the jelly like paste in small quantities.
  • Tilt the cloth slightly to transfer the jelly spread to your hand then to the heated oil carefully.
  • Keep turning the sides. When both the sides become light golden brown, remove them from the oil.
  • Serve hot with coffee or tea
